Family fun day to help raise funds for Cancer Research

Aug. 18, 2011 - PRLog -- The event, in partnership with Comet, will take place at DoubleTree by Hilton, Cadbury House in Congresbury from 10am until 4pm and is set to provide a whole host of fun for families across the area.

Featuring stalls, games, BBQ plus the chance to win a host of fantastic prizes, including a plasma TV, the day will raise vital cash for the charity which funds research into preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer.

Other attractions include a number of unique Segway personal transportation machines for people to try out and a 61ft inflatable Jungle run will test the agility of younger visitors. There will also be a children’s fancy dress competition and a release of balloons in memory of loved ones and families affected by cancer.

For those interested in games consoles, a hi-tech games room will be set up. Here competitions for two age groups will be organised to win a laptop.

General Manager of DoubleTree by Hilton, Cadbury House Colin Badcock said: “We’re really looking forward to hosting the family fun day. We’ve got lots of great activities lined up for all ages and we’re hoping to raise a really good amount for the charity.

“It’s great when we host days like this because it really brings the community together. A big thank you must also go to Comet for helping to arrange the day. We’ve just got to keep our fingers crossed for some nice weather!”
