By: CollegeAmerica “A GED can be the critical first step in one’s journey in gaining the real-world knowledge and skills necessary to start a career in today’s marketplace, yet according to the GED Academy,1 39 million Americans do not have a high school diploma,” said Nathan Larson, regional director of CollegeAmerica Colorado. “While earning a GED diploma doesn’t guarantee employment, the correlation between unemployment rates and educational attainment is not just anecdotal. Data from the U.S. Census Bureau shows that more 15 percent of people without a high school diploma are unemployed. We are pleased the GED Test tutoring program will be another part of our educational offerings.” CollegeAmerica GED Test tutoring will provide the following benefits: • Knowledgeable instructors • Flexible tutoring hours • Individual attention • Complimentary study tools • Motivational support system • Targeted practice exams • GED Test registration assistance As an additional benefit, when students are ready to take their GED Test, CollegeAmerica will cover the cost of their test fee. The program was launched in 2009 at the Stevens-Henager Provo/Orem campus in Utah, an affiliate of CollegeAmerica. Due to the popularity of the program, all CollegeAmerica campuses in Colorado, Arizona (Flagstaff-main and Phoenix-branch) Students can be tutored in all the GED Test areas, including English, Social Studies, Science, and Math.
