By: Phil Griston As service providers continue developing converged services, complex architecture and routing designs are required for managing differentiated levels of service. The new multi-topology support assists providers in managing these complexities by allowing traffic management over separate control planes simultaneously. Always a strength of the MATE solution, Release 4.5 further integrates automated network discovery with planning and design. Network models suitable for long-term planning, which contain daily and weekly traffic profiles, can be created automatically from minute-by-minute network snapshots. This integration provides a common framework for traffic management for operations, engineering, designing, and planning. With the rich level of network data and analysis now available from the MATE interface, users can integrate that information within other business decision support systems. The introduction of an API to the leading open-source reporting engine, Jasper Reports, simplifies this task. This support also enhances the value of MATE software when it is used for delivering managed services to network operators, especially when those services integrate MATE functionality with other technology. Release 4.5, as is standard with all the MATE releases, also includes several smaller features to address enhancement requests from Cariden’s customers. Commenting on this release, Alan Gous, Vice President of Product Management at Cariden, said, “Our commitment is to listen to our customers as we deliver visibility, efficiency, and automation to their networks. They have told us that they are expanding the use of the network data and analysis they derive from MATE solutions throughout their companies. The primary goal of this release is to make that expansion easier and more productive.” # # # About Cariden Cariden Technologies, Inc. is a software company serving telecommunications providers worldwide.
