An article published by the National Journal of The Royal Society of Medicine (JRSM) talk sbaout the many studies done to prove that  being exposed to the “turbulent airflow around the helmet” when riding a motorcycle can result in hearing damage. Various studies have been done placing a microphone under the helmet, close to the ear to measure sound levels. The results showed an increased level of noise around the helmet (about 90 dB(A) at 60 km/h which is loud enough to cause hearing damage.

If you use a motorcycle as a means of transportation on a regular basis, you may suffer from hearing loss. It is important to visit a local audiologist, such as Dr. Joseph Duran, to receive a hearing evaluation that will determine the level of hearing loss. Early treatment will improve your quality of life.
