Meiying M11 1.2GHz Android 2.3 RK2918 Apad Beats Herotab M8 Sampad

July 24, 2011 - PRLog -- While the MeiYing M11 will probably never be a strong enough competitor to the iPad 2, it definitely is a great tablet selection is you are looking for lower priced alternatives with similar functionality.

MeiYing's release of the m11 almost reminds me of Meizu's release of the Meizu M8. The M8 was the first Chinese attempt to try and compete with the iPhone 2g. It took over a year and a half to be released and once it had been, Apple had already released the iPhone 3g.

Meiying is entering the market rather late. The 10.2" iBex Flytouch3 aka FlyingTouch4 with built-in 3g and multi-touch screen is the king of the 10-inch tablets, but in the 8.0" tablet arena, the MeiyYing M11 Beats out the SamPad M8, and similarly named yet inferior Herotab M8.


MeiYing introduces RK2918 processor which is based on Cortex-A8 core. This tablet  runs at 1.3GHz which is faster than the other chinese tablets.

M11 also packs in 512M DDR3 memory and 16G storage with a optional cheaper 8gb built-in. The 8-inch high-res screen has resolution of 1024×768 and boasts capacitive multi-touch screen.

Operating System is Android 2.3 O/S code-named "Gingerbread." Few iPad Wannabe tablets have dual cameras; the M11 does. It has a front facing 3M Pixel camera and a rear facing 2 million pixels camera.  

5000mAh battery lasts an average of 5 hours more than enough for watching movies with these formats: MKV, AVI, RM, RMVB, MP4, MOV, VOB, DAT, FLV, 3GP video formats, 1080p video playback; with 4:3, 16:9 and full screen playback mode.

The price of this tablet is more than half as much cheaper than the IPad. While I personally prefer larger 10.2 inch screens and built-in 3g tablets like the iBex Flytouch 4, this tablet will give the iPad 3 a run for its money.
