Baltimore Fashion Week supports grassroots organizations with local charitable fashion event

July 19, 2011 - PRLog -- From the very beginning the CEO of Butterfly Productions, the event planning firm of Baltimore Fashion Week (BFW), has always had a soft spot in her heart for grassroots organizations.  Having a 10 year background of working in the non-profit sector, has offered her the inside knowledge of what it means to operate and manage a grassroots organization.  This learning opportunity changed her life and her outlook on life as she learned what it truly means to provide support for others.

EVOLVE – Change Starts Here is the charitable fashion event and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to The Den-Baltimore.  The Den-Baltimore is a local organization whose mission is to offer a safe space for Baltimore’s LGBTQ adolescents and young adults ages 13-24 with reliable, culturally competent, and high quality services that aid in the social, physical, mental, scholastic and career development of adolescents and young adults.

In today’s society so many youth within this community are in need of sound guidance.  It is a complete honor to have The Den-Baltimore as a charitable recipient for this event.  Grassroots organizations with missions such as this are close to my heart and deserve exposure.  What better way to provide exposure but through the art of fashion,” stated Nixon, CEO of Butterfly Productions.

EVOLVE-Change Starts Here will take place Friday, July 22, 2011 at 9:04 p.m. at Club Hippo located 1 East Eager Street, Baltimore, Maryland 21201.  Tickets range from $20 to $10 per seat and are available on the event website and at the door.
