July 12, 2011 - PRLog -- Although you don’t have to ride a bike to enjoy Carlisle Bike Fest, July 22-24 at the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds, being part of the open-air experience makes the weekend truly unique.  With all roads leading to Carlisle, a bike and the summer sun are a perfect fit for a scenic cruise through the Cumberland Valley en route to one of the largest events of its type in the region.   The 10th celebration of all things motorcycle will provide live music with nearly ten bands spread across two different stages all weekend, a great array of food from 16 different vendors, industry guests to provide insight into the hobby, a pair of motorcycle giveaways, a Rat Rod Revival and most importantly, the opportunity to spend three days with more than 35,000 like minded open-air enthusiasts.

The festivities start on Thursday with a set-up day and quickly transitions into Friday where the first of thousands of bikes will roll into the fairgrounds for a weekend celebration like no other.   Friday activities include great displays from the riders themselves, industry guests such as Sam Nehme from BMS Choppers, Steve Kehler from Tricked Out Custom Cycles Inc., The StarBoyz stunt team, Biker Billy, the Garage Girls and more.  Also as part of the weekend fun, you can shop for the hottest styles in apparel and take part in demo rides of various makes, models and sizes of bikes courtesy of Suzuki, Kawasaki, Star, Victory and Yamaha.

Live music will be prevalent, including bands with local, regional and national exposure.  Acts include Blackwater Jam, the Octavia Blues Band, Nic Cowan, the JellyBricks, Dry Mill Road the Little Ivory Blues Band and more.  Additional entertainment comes in the form of Disc-Connected K9’s as Lawrence Frederick brings World Champion Frisbee Dogs, Harley-Davidson and Easy Rider  to the show to entertain fans of all ages.  Saturday-only field games are open to anyone with a bike.  This entertaining activity showcases both the bike itself and the talent of the rider on it.

If you aren’t riding or playing, shopping might be another option.  For three days, the Appalachian Harley-Davidson Dealer Mall will open its doors for more than just Harley-Davidson gear and apparel.  The mall offers on-site wheel, tire and exhaust installations and a huge selection of pre-owned motorcycles at the second annual Bike Fest Consignment sale. The Bike Fest is also a regular stop on the national circuit for many more national and regional vendors providing the opportunity to get you or your bike fitted for parts, supplies and motorcycle-related products.

You can also register to win one of two motorcycles which will be given away both Saturday and Sunday.  Carlisle Events  will connect one enthusiast with a brand new 2011 Nightster, while Motor-Vation and Koup’s Cycles will award a 2010 Kawasaki Ninja 250R.  The Ninja will be awarded on Saturday, while the Nightster will be given away on Sunday.  Hopeful winners can check out photos of the bikes, garner more information and register online at www.CarlisleEvents.com or during  the event at the Kiosk located near Guest Services.

Sunday will feature the Rat Rod Revival and even more live music.  Check out works of art that are literally bare bones restorations of bikes or cars, using whatever tools and materials the builder can find.  These unique rides will be on display  all morning with awards at 2 p.m.

Carlisle Bike Fest, the mid-Atlantic’s premier motorcycle event, is crafted with the rider in mind.  Thousands of bikes, trikes and open-air fanatics will cruise in through the breathtaking scenic mountains of the Cumberland Valley to Carlisle for everything from non-stop entertainment to industry guests, demo rides, bike giveaways and more.  Whether you spend a few hours or the entire day in Carlisle, you will enjoy a wide variety of apparel, motorcycle and accessory vendors that are second to none.  You don’t want to miss this three-day open-air celebration.  Carlisle Bike Fest – enjoy the ride!
