Attorney Keith Grossman Participates in Family Court Tribunal

July 1, 2011 - PRLog -- Local Family Law attorney Keith Grossman recently took part in a  successful pro se parenting Tribunal. The Tribunal process is an innovative method of quickly resolving family law disputes within the 20th Judicial Circuit Court system.  A panel of judicial, legal and mental health experts hear case arguments and provide non-binding advisory opinions in order to resolve disputes. The inter-disciplinary panel for the parenting Tribunal consisted of Attorney Keith Grossman providing the legal opinion, the Honorable Judge Josephine Gagliardi providing a judicial opinion, and psychologist Dr. Deborah Silver providing a mental health opinion on the case. Darryll Bauchert, a certified Family Mediator and Financial Planner, administered the case. The case was the first pro se Tribunal to be held in the 20th Circuit. Pro se means that both parties in the dispute represented themselves without outside legal counsel.

Participation in Family Court Tribunals is voluntary, and provides disputing parties a way “to have their day in court, but without an official court ruling,” says Attorney Grossman. Darryll Bauchert adds, “The parties can decide whether they want to abide by the professional recommendations of the Tribunal, thus settling their case quickly while still preserving control over the decisions made.”
