SJH Foundation Appoints Local Philanthropists as Officers for Board of Directors

June 29, 2011 - PRLog -- This Spring, the South Jersey Healthcare (SJH) Foundation announced the appointment of the new officers to its Board of Directors – Lawrence A. Pepper, Jr., Esq., Chair; Dominick P. Baruffi, II, Vice-Chair; Nikitas Moustakas, Esq., Secretary; and David J. Hemple, Treasurer. Each of these members has a long and distinguished history of community service on the Foundation Board and throughout South Jersey, ensuring the advancement of health care in the region.  

“We are excited about the changes in leadership and fresh perspectives that these new Board officers bring to the SJH Foundation,” said Carolyn Heckman, Executive Director of the SJH Foundation. “The enthusiasm and experience of individuals like Larry, Dominick, Nick, and Dave will undoubtedly enable us to continue our mission of providing financial resources to South Jersey Healthcare and extending quality health care to our region.”

Lawrence A. Pepper, Jr., Esq. supervises the estate planning practice under Gruccio, Pepper, DeSanto & Ruth, P.A. He also serves as a director of the Cumberland Mutual Insurance Company and as labor counsel to various counties and municipalities. Pepper is active in New Jersey politics and has served as Cumberland County Republican Chairman since 1975.

Dominic Baruffi II is CEO of Jersey Panel Corporation, a prefabricated exterior wall manufacturer, servicing high-profile projects throughout the Northeast Corridor including contributions to the construction of the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City. He is currently treasurer of the Vineland Christian and Missionary Alliance Church.

Nikitas Moustakas, Esq. was born in Athens, Greece, and raised in southern New Jersey and Philadelphia. He is currently an associate at Parker, McCay where they specialize in Corporate, Tax and Business Transactional Law; Mergers and Acquisitions; and Estate and Commercial Real Estate Law. Moustakas has served as the chairman of SJH Golf Tournaments and helped launch the inaugural SJH Tennis Tournament.

David Hemple, President and CEO of Century Savings Bank, is a member of the CEO Group of Cumberland County and the Bridgeton and Vineland Area Chambers of Commerce. He is also Director of New Jersey Banker’s Board of Governors and is Treasurer of the Woodruff United Methodist Church.

In addition to the SJH Foundation newly appointed officers, the SJH Foundation Board of Directors are: Luanne Allen; Gladwyn D. Baptist, M.D.; Edward Bethea; Steve Caltabiano; Patricia L. Chieffo; Lynn Crescenzo; Eileen Hallissey; Hugh McCaffrey; Suzanne Merighi; Joseph Pustizzi, Jr.; and Christoper Ruske. Non-voting members are Carolyn Heckman; Chester B. Kaletkowski; Robert M. D’Angel, Esq.; and John DiAngelo. The Director Emeritus is Alfred O. Davies, M.D.

The SJH Foundation is the fundraising entity of South Jersey Healthcare – a premiere health care provider in southern New Jersey with hospitals in Vineland, Elmer and Bridgeton and a regional cancer center in Vineland.
