Set Sail for Family Fun on Pahappahooey Island

June 21, 2011 - PRLog -- (Rock Rapids, IA) – Twelve episodes from the Muppet-style children’s series Pahappahooey Island are now available in a new six DVD set from Bridgestone Multimedia Group™.

Pahappahooey Island is an award-winning puppetry series about the adventures of a spunky youngster, Ali, and her furry friends. The series begins with the gang discovering the island’s greatest treasure, a Bible, after rescuing the land from a storm. Each ensuing episode features the friends learning moral lessons as they sing, laugh, and explore their colorful island. Whether they’re seeking treasure, frolicking at the banana bowling alley, or catapulting cream pies at the evil Ichabone Slink, the puppets know the Creator will walk with them every step of the way.

The series debuted on the Trinity Broadcast Network in 1999. The first original children’s series from Impact Productions, whose projects also include Christmas Child, Pahappahooey Island was brought to life with the help of professional Disney puppeteers. Then, director and screenwriter Eric Newman joined the creative team to produce nine new episodes from 2004-2005. “Our original creative team, including myself, was raised on Muppets, so we thought we wanted to do something like the Muppets and find some stories to tell,” Newman said. “We just felt drawn to the world of puppets.”
