It’s Always Friday on Ark Music!

June 16, 2011 - PRLog -- Hollywood, CA – June 16, 2011 – Ark Music Factory has launched TGI Friday Covers, a series of homages—professional, home-grown and user-submitted—to Ark’s runaway hit FRIDAY.

Each Friday, Ark Music Factory’s TGI Fridays feature either a hit or professionally recorded version of the song alongside two user-submitted cover versions chosen by Ark management.  Users are invited to submit ANY cover of the song—homage, re-work or parody—at www.arkmusicfactory.com to win a shot at being broadcast on the site.  

On the very first Friday of the promotion, June 10, Ark Music Factory honored the launch of The Glee Project talent search show, which aired on the Oxygen cable network June 12 (http://thegleeproject.oxygen.com/?cid=sem_tgp_network_related).  Ark featured the Glee cast cover of Friday. The Glee cast performed the song on the second to last episode, which aired Tuesday May 10 on The Fox Broadcasting Company.

On subsequent Fridays, as user-submitted entries come in, Ark will pick two of them each week to accompany the professional covers.  Upcoming Fridays feature Katy Perry’s cover of Friday http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sM51ANnSgsU, as well as an official remix of the song, which Chelsea Kane and Romeo performed on Dancing with the Stars in May:

Videos selected will screen on the Ark web site, which boasts 16,000 active members, and offer kids (and adults) chance to have their talents showcased in front of Ark Music's founder Patrice Wilson.

The song “Friday,” first launched by Ark Music Factory, was a stupendous hit as recorded by thirteen year-old teen sensation Rebecca Black.  Since then, the song has spawned dozens—maybe hundreds-of fan covers, parodies as well as professional covers--as well as more than 160 million views on YouTube.
