Gary Barbera To Speak At St. Mary’s Villa 8th Grade Commencement, June 16th, 2011, Ambler, Pa

June 15, 2011 - PRLog -- Gary Barbera, of Barbera’s Autoland, a prominent figure in Philadelphia’s Automotive Market and in the Charitable Endeavor Arena because of his Barbera Cares Program, A Caring Partner in the Community (http://www.barberasautoland.com/barbera-cares-philadelphia-jeep-dodge-chrysler-ram.htm), was asked to say a few motivational words to the children of St. Mary’s Villa by Edie Simpson.  “Ms. Simpson spear-heads grassroots organizations and dedicates her life to volunteerism around Philadelphia, she is an unsung hero.” said Gary.

Edie Simpson instantly thought of Gary Barbera to speak  at the 8th grade commencement.  
Ms. Simpson said that she has worked with Gary on many charities and community parades and knew he’d love to help out.  The students at St. Mary’s Villa have suffered injustices many times at the hands of their own parents and other students are emotionally troubled.  Gary is famous in the Philadelphia area and could offer a few words of encouragement and about staying the course in the face of adversity, said Ms. Simpson.

St. Mary’s Villa for Children and Families started as an orphanage for boys in 1911 in Conshohocken.  After it became so crowded St. Mary’s moved in 1936 to the beautiful, serene, spacious Lindenwold Estate in Ambler, PA. St. Mary’s Villa is rooted in the heritage of the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth. The programs continued to develop and grow to meet the needs of the boys and now, girls.  The Sisters have met many challenges and have been the support system that these children need.  They supply everything the children need, medical programs, education, a safe home, fun activities and most of all love and safety. Increased attention is dedicated to families, resulting in children being reunited with them.  Many children were abused, abandoned or needed extra supervision and attention in school and in their residences. Social work services and appropriate therapies continue to be offered to the children placed in the agency’s care.
