How would you describe your Website?

George Bernard Shaw said, "One of the worst things about communication is that everyone assumes that it happened." I can't think of a single statement that more adequately describes websites in general.

May 27, 2011 - PRLog -- Someone asks, "what's your website address?" You stammer or for a moment and then say, "we're working on one right now...my brother in law is..well, you know, he's working on one for us. Its coming but in the meantime, here's a brochure". They look a little puzzled, "no website? hmm." You feel a little awkward and determine that's the last time you're going to have that uncomfortable experience. And so begins your journey toward the love/hate relationship you have with your website. You finally get some semblance of a website up, some text, a banner, a few pictures, a phone number. 'Spartan' would probably describe it best. Unfortunately, 'Spartan' is not what keeps visitors on your site or gets them to spend a dime, frustrating the matter further because that's why you built a website in the first place! So, you have a website, now what? Good question.

You might wonder how I know all this. Well, it's because I've spent the last 5 years dealing with entrepreneurs and hearing them apologize, right out of the gate, about their sad little website. When people apologize about the meager spread before a dinner they're hosting or refer to their home as "ever so humble", they are downplaying what they have so that they can smile with pride as you contradict them. However, when someone apologizes for their website,.....take it to the bank; their website stinks.

The good news? There is hope. What most entrepreneurs don't realize is that no amount of high end GUI (the cool shiny interactive part of the site) is going to automatically make the cash register ring. I've talked to people who've spent $10K on their site and were still disappointed with the results. It takes the same thing that "old fashioned sales" requires, emotional attachment to your product and company. People buy from people they like, or companies they like or at least those with whom they have a connection. George Bernard Shaw wisely said "The worst thing about communication is that everyone assumes that it happened". So, how are you "communicating" with your site visitors? Are you making the colossal mistake of 'assuming' that communication is taking place?

Here's one way to ensure direct communication with every site visitor multiple times per visit. It's called i-V0 Technology. http://www.ivotechnology.com  i-Vo stands for Internet Video Overlay and it is a simple plug and play website tool that lets an entrepreneur greet each visitor within 2 seconds of hitting their site. By the way, Google says you have 4 seconds before they hit 'Back' and disappear forever. A site owner can go to one of hundreds of certified videographers around the US, Canada and Mexico to have their professional video shot or submit a script and have a professional model read their script.

Think of the power of greeting each visitor in person, telling them the best things about a product or service and then showing them exactly where to buy them on that site! Beside the fact that they will be personally welcomed to the site immediately, sites with iVo average 3-4 minutes per visitor. It also does wonders for your SEO rankings. Anybody who understands SEO knows site stickiness and keyword relevancy are some of the most necessary ingredients in attaining a higher ranking. Search Engines are always looking for sites that have "Relevant Content" and the longer someone stays, browses through the pages, and returns to a site the better a site is ranked for that particular content. iVo not only engages your visitors it's a natural SEO booster which will ultimately help your site rank higher. You can see a live demonstration of iVo instantly  on your site right now (no annoying info capture first).  You can even get a 30 day free trial on your site at http://ivotechnology.com with no strings attached; No credit card needed.

So, stop hoping and start communicating with your visitors today. All you have to lose is a dead, static, non-productive website. Whatever you do, find a way to communicate with your visitors. Engage them at first glance or lose them forever.
