May 6, 2011 - PRLog -- Jaguar Exploration is pleased to announce it has added Alfonso Ortega Leite to its team as Operations Manager. Highlighting the company’s latest professional hire, Jaguar President Julio M Jimeno says, “Ortega’s background in seismic data acquisition plus his bilingual ability make him a valuable addition, especially for our Mexico, Central and South America operations.”

Ortega received his Bachelor of Science degree in geophysics from the National University of Mexico. He went to work for Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex), Mexico’s state-owned petroleum company which grew to be the 10th largest oil company in the world.

He retired from Pemex after 31 years in various geophysical roles; he completed his career there as the Deputy Manager for both land and marine acquisition design for Pemex E&P headquarters in Villahermosa.

Ortega notes, “In 1979, I joined PEMEX where my first experience in the business was as a field engineer, working extensively in seismic design and seismic acquisition. Today I get to put all this experience to work for Jaguar – it’s an exciting new time!”

Ortega is a member of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) and the Mexican association of Exploration Geophysicists (AMGE).
