World s Fastest Broadband

April 30, 2011 - PRLog -- Virgin Media, a UK based telecoms and cable giant expressed the views that it will test the world's fastest broadband to keep pace with the rising demand for lightning-quick internet connections.

Report published in The News, International, further says that the company plans to trial speeds of up to 1.5 gigabits per second--more than 10 times faster than its current fastest service of 100 megabits per second and 240 times quicker than the current UK average speed of 6.2 megabits.

Soon, four reputed companies near Old Street, in London, named the "Silicon Roundabout," plan to launch the trials of the super-fast internet connections. However, this service will eventually be used in offices and homes.

The company claims that the increased number of users will be able to use the network simultaneously without having interruption. The greatest advantage of the 1.5 gb service, therefore, is not the speed but the increasing number of consumers, it further states.
