Surgery Games and How They Can Help Education

Surgery games, and other educational games are being used as tools for teaching more and more. Will they be implemented more in school system in the future?

April 26, 2011 - PRLog -- Surgery games have been on the rise recently. They are also very educational, they teach you a lot about anatomy and a little about what it is like being a doctor. These educational benefits are what a lot of people have been focusing on lately. Since there is educational benefit in video games as a whole, can there be a benefit in surgery games? Could we use surgery games to show people what it would be like to be in a doctor, or surgeons professions?

As everyone might know already, there are a lot of educational games out there for: math, science, and spelling. They accomplish subliminal learning by letting the user have fun. Most of the time subjects that are playing an educational game don't really realize they are learning, at least in the traditional sense.

There are even a few colleges that acknowledge the educational benefits of surgery game simulators. They are working on developing a more serious and realistic surgery simulator. This simulator is supposed to be as realistic as possible and give out scenarios that could go wrong in a normal operation. This will give surgeons a chance to practice without having a life in the balance.
