Organizing & Productivity Professionals Get Techie at International Conference

Panel of expert technology organizing and productivity consultants unleashes the techie wave at 2011 NAPO Conference

April 25, 2011 - PRLog -- Professional organizers and Certified Professional Organizers® from around the world attended a technology presentation at a conference organized in San Diego, California, by the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO).  The session, called “Bridge the Digital Divide: How to Organize & Be Productive in the Information Age” was a ninety minute discussion designed to address technology needs for business owners, employees, and clients.

The panel was moderated by Geralin Thomas, CPO-CD, of Metropolitan Organizing who is a lead organizer on A&E’s Hoarders, and hosted by Helene Segura, CPO of LivingOrder San Antonio.  The expert panelists were Lauren Halagarda, CPO of The Organization Connection, Brandie Kajino of SOHO Solutionist, and Joshua Zerkel, CPO of Custom Living Solutions.

“Technology is always changing and there are an overwhelming number of software programs and services available offering the organizing promise,” Halagarda said.  “As organizing and productivity professionals, you and your clients have questions about the best software and services to use and don’t know where to start.  That's why we're here today.”

The panelists discussed the latest and greatest online and desktop based solutions, advantages and disadvantages and which solutions were right for the attendees and their clients from the techies who live it.  Recommendations ranged from the best social media managers (Tweetdeck, Postling, and Hootsuite ranked high) to computer back-ups (Mozy, Carbonite, and Crash Plan), paperless options, favorite smart phones, and more.
