SAN ANTONIO - April 7, 2016 - PRLog -- April is National Stress Awareness Month. To help battle overwhelm and stress, Time Management Fixer Helene Segura has released a new book, The Inefficiency Assassin: Time Management Tactics for Working Smarter, Not Longer (New World Library, April 2016).

"Varying forms of distractions and time management challenges are a major cause of stress," says Segura. "We experience time leaks throughout our day…five minutes here and 10 minutes there. Before we realize it, we can lose up to three hours each day from those leaks!"

*Psychology Today reports that 4 out of 10 people fear being without their smartphones. We're so addicted to our devices that the average adult unlocks his/her phone 110 times per day - a self-interruption which causes a major time loss.

*Researchers at UC Irvine found that it takes the average worker up to 25 minutes to return to a task after being interrupted. Furthermore, this falling behind caused workers to attempt to speed up work.

*University of Glasgow researchers found that performance levels drop by nearly three-quarters when we multi-task. Our attempt to speed up work only leads to an increase in stress levels.

Discussions in Segura's book include insights into why we feel like we never have enough time, how to choose which tasks are priorities, and tips on lowering stress levels through improved time management. Segura's book also covers:

·        How to prevent time leaks like procrastination and distractions

·        Productivity hacks for saving up to three hours each day

·        How to tell your time what to do.

A book launch party will be held in Segura's home base of San Antonio, Texas, on Thursday, April 28, 2016, from 6:00 to 7:30 PM at The Twig Bookstore at The Pearl. All profits from the evening will benefit Final Salute, Inc., a non-profit which assists homeless female veterans. Female veterans are affected by various stressful situations, including PTSD, physical injuries, and lack of shelter and resources. Final Salute assists our veterans in meeting basic daily needs.
