Fumc Of Arlington To Host Nationally Sought-after Speaker

April 22, 2011 - PRLog -- ARLINGTON, Texas –  FUMC of Arlington will host guest preacher Dr. John Ed Mathison, founder of the John Ed Mathison Leadership Ministries (www.johnedmathison.org), at 8:15, 9:30 and 11:00 AM on Sunday, May 1. The worship services are free and open to the public.

The John Ed Mathison Leadership Ministries is an organization with “a major objective to provide training opportunities for young pastors.” Dr. Mathison founded the organization in 2008, after retiring as senior minister from Frazer Memorial United Methodist Church in Montgomery, AL, one of the fastest growing churches in Alabama. In 2006, The Church Reporter magazine recognized Frazer as the 25th most influential church in America.

Dr. Mathison will preach three worship services on May 1 at 8:15, 9:30 and 11:00 AM in the FUMC of Arlington Sanctuary. He will also provide a keynote address, open to the public, at 7:30 PM on May 2 as part of the Evangelism Conference and Preaching Academy held May 2 - 4.

Author of seven books, Dr. Mathison is also a nationally sought-after speaker.  He holds bachelor's degrees from Huntingdon College and Candler School of Theology, a master's degree from Princeton University, and the Doctor of Ministry Degree from Candler School of Theology.
