Zimmer tabs Rosenstock for key Property Management position

Zimmer Real Estate Services has filled two key positions in it's Property & Facilities Management division. The new hires are: Skip Rosenstock, CPM, CCIM, Director of Field Property Management; and Micheal DePonte, Chief Building Engineer.
 
April 20, 2011 - PRLog -- (KANSAS CITY, Mo.) Bolstering its growing and active Property and Facilities Management division, Zimmer Real Estate Services, L.C. has filled two management positions during the past month.

Skip Rosenstock, CPM, CCIM, a 25-year property management veteran took over as Director of Field Property Management on April 18. Rosenstock, who was previously Senior Property Manager at Briarcliff Realty, will take over for Zimmer Vice President Vern Walters, CPM, LEED AP, who is leading Zimmer’s Property Management efforts for the new 1.5 million-square-foot National Security Campus in south Kansas City.

“I’m very excited about this new role and new time in my life,” Rosenstock said. “I know every day will be different. This is the type of job where you have to work hard to stay ahead of the game, be proactive and anticipate your clients’ needs. Customer service is a big deal for us and through good service, you make people happy.”

As director, Rosenstock will oversee a division responsible for the management of more than 4 million square feet of commercial space in the Kansas City region and throughout the United States. Other services offered by the Property Management division include: Asset Management, Property Condition Assessments, Building Commissioning, Emergency Planning, Facility Manuals and Construction Management Services.

“Skip is a perfect fit for us,” said Zimmer Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Ellen Z. Darling, CPM. “He is widely recognized and highly regarded in our industry. Skip has a diverse background and wealth of experience, including expertise in healthcare facilities. His background and thorough understanding of the role financial aspect of property operations and real estate investments is an important part of his background.”

Also joining Zimmer is Michael DePonte, who has taken over as Zimmer’s Chief Building Engineer. DePonte previously served as a Facilities Maintenance Supervisor for Olathe-based Garmin, International. DePonte is responsible for Zimmer’s staff of 11 Building Engineers serving properties and facilities throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area.

DePonte’s relationship with Zimmer has lasted more than 25 years. Prior to joining Garmin, DePonte operated his own service company and was a key vendor to Zimmer. Michael has more than 30 years of experience in the building maintenance and engineering field with more than 20 years in a supervisory role working for both property owners and third-party clients. At Garmin, he served as Owner’s Representative and project manager for Garmin’s world headquarters expansion project. He maintained operating budgets, planned and scheduled capital improvement projects, implemented a preventative maintenance program, monitored all OSHA regulated activities, and directed staff and subcontractors in facilities, grounds, and equipment maintenance.

“Michael has a strong background in running a service business, which is what he’ll be doing here,” Darling said. “He knows what it takes to provide needed maintenance and response to property owners and owner occupants. He has run his own business, he’s been in a corporate facility and he understands building construction from the perspective of how it effects on-going building operations. His broad range of experience is going to be a great asset for us.”
