April 18, 2011 - PRLog -- (Kingston - Jamaica)  A local television network in its Prime Time news broadcast on Friday April 15th, 2011 mistakenly identified conscious Reggae artiste Greg  Nesbeth aka Nesbeth as a captured fugitive on the police "Most Wanted" list.  The damning news report immediately got the attention of 'concerned Nesbeth fans as far away as London who bombarded his cellular phone with calls.

In an effort to clear his name, Nesbeth in a live television interview categorically denied the allegations brought against him and stated further that the individual to whom the police took into custody (whose name is Nicolas Nesbeth) is not a family member.

Nesbeth, like any other law-abiding citizen of Jamaica does not take kindly to the error made by the network.  He cautioned journalists to bear in mind that they have an obligation to do their independent investigation on any news item obtained and consider that not all information found on the internet is accurate.  His other concern, 'had to do with the damaging implications such information can have on his career as persons in authority at the Embassies as well as other countries monitors the news media and will almost immediately, take action against  artistes alleged to have criminal affiliation or record in the already fragile local industry."
