Jermaine Michael's Entry into the Reggae Industry!

Aug. 12, 2011 - PRLog -- (Kingston, Jamaica) Jermaine Michael auditioned but did not make it into the final 10 of the 2010 Digicel Rising Star competition, Jamaica's most watched talent show.  But as faith would have it, he was called back to the show as one of the Judges 'Wild Card' then walked away with 3rd place at the season finale.  One year after what he described as 'his best moment in time,' Jermaine Michael dropped his first official single and video entitled, ‘Corner Stone’ on the Stashment Production Label signifying the genesis of his career in the Reggae industry.  

“Life after Rising Star has its up and down” said Jermaine, “the expectation remains high, but it is not just about coming out because Jamaica already know who I am but being able to attract new fans locally and internationally, that’s the greatest challenge for me.”  The 24 year old resident of Ocho Rios in the Parish of St. Anns, acknowledges that the ‘world stage’ is a totally different scenario from the competition which clearly made him into an household name in Jamaica. He said, “Rising Star takes you to door and creates the opportunity for you to open it, but its your responsibility to take the torch and continue on the journey”  Well the first stop he makes on that journey is to stake his claim in the industry, creating his own brand, JERMAINE MICHAEL!

Digicel Rising Star has provided a platform for other successful Reggae artistes such as Romaine Virgo, Christopher Martin and Noddy Virtue to name a few since its inception.  This artiste intends to follow in the footsteps of those who have made well of the opportunity the competition afforded them and have gone on to become internationally known.

Overall the single Corner Stone is a good Reggae song and lyrics relevant to the struggles of just about any person looking for a break.  Jermaine owned the track and his signature ‘American country music’ sound that so many Jamaicans have come to know him for, compliments the music. “We wanted to put out another single but felt it was of utmost importance that we present ourselves at this time to the public, the way we want persons to perceive us to be from now on” said Stasha with Jermaine nodding in agreement.
