April 5, 2011 - PRLog -- Beverly Hills, CA - This week, two first-evers have happened in the entertainment industry. AN AFFIRMATIVE ACT, a star-filled movie with multiple Academy Award and Emmy winners and nominees, was released in select AMC and Kersostes theaters across the United States. The star-power isn’t what makes this film unique, however. It’s the fact that it’s the only film that has ever squarely tackled gay marriage as a legal issue—as a courtroom drama. Initial reviews, as expected, have been mixed. GO Magazine, one of the nation’s leading LGBT publications, wrote: “An Affirmative Act is a masterpiece of artistic commentary.” Echelon Magazine, another LGBT major player, opined that the movie is “A riveting courtroom drama guaranteed to inflame the passions of the masses."  However, others, in-apposite to the position, have written it off as nothing more than a failed TV movie.

In another artistic area, a “blockbuster-type” novel has just hit the shelves of the brick and mortar Barnes & Nobles and the Amazon.com cyberspace arenas. Generally, it would indeed just be “another” novel. But, here it’s not—here, it’s THE GREAT HEIST, a novel that – in fictional format – claims that the United States never went to the moon, all in the backdrop of a presidential race. Still, it’s not the “James Bond meets The Da Vinci Code” formula that ultimately sets this novel release apart. It’s that this novel and publisher – Transit Publishing – are doing something with Amazon.com that has never been done before. Beginning on the novels’ publication date, April 5, the viewers on Amazon.com can WATCH scenes from the novel (three of them), with considerable stars playing the roles: Robert Loggia (Academy Award & Emmy nominee; Scarface, Independence Day, Big); Blanche Baker (Emmy winner; Sixteen Candles); Eric Etebari (An Affirmative Act; The Lincoln Lawyer); Tom Waites (And Justice For All; The Thing); and Nina Transfeld (The Life Zone).

All of this comes from one man, Kenneth Del Vecchio, a veteran filmmaker who has written/directed/produced over 15 movies that star numerous film and TV stars, including several Academy Award and Emmy winners and nominees. These films have distribution deals from industry leaders such as Universal’s Vivendi Entertainment, Anchor Bay, E-1 Entertainment and Take 2 Releasing. Del Vecchio also has written other published works of adult fiction and is the author of some of the nation’s bestselling criminal law books, a series of 1200+ page legal books published by Prentice Hall and ALM. He’s also the founder and chairman of Hoboken International Film Festival…And he was one of the youngest Judges in state history, previously serving as a criminal attorney who tried over 400 cases.
