Experienced Wisconsin Builder Makes Move to Madison

According to owner Josh Hardyman, “We’re stoked to be moving to Madison.  It’s a vibrant place full of opportunity.”  Hardyman has been building and framing new construction for over 10 years concentrating on family homes in communities surrounding the Madison area.  For the last several years, Hardyman Construction saw a downturn in the building market but a significant upturn in home remodeling.

In the slow economy, Hardyman Construction has renovated kitchens, baths and basements.  According to a crew member,  “There was a period when home theaters and game rooms were popular; now we’re seeing an interest in the custom home market.”  

No matter, during building slumps, Hardyman keeps busy with roofing, window, or siding projects.  The company was even contracted by Home Depot as the go-to guys for solving window, roofing and siding problems in the Dane County region.   “It’s not always easy to go in and fix some other guy’s work, but we’ve done that, and we learn from their mistakes,” said Hardyman.  Along with his subcontracting projects with Home Depot, Hardyman isn’t afraid to travel:  “We’ve roofed houses in Dubuque and installed new windows in Milwaukee.” It’s a typical day when Hardyman and crew drive to Rockford and then a Milwaukee suburb, explaining, “It’s tough in the construction industry, you need to be a go-getter and go where the work is.”

And go he does, spending as many as 20 hours a week just driving to and from settings.
