Retro Sports Day Helps Playcentre Celebrate Facelift

Three-legged race, pass the parcel and fancy dress party help Fenton Fun Factory reveal new look

March 22, 2011 - PRLog -- RETRO SPORTS DAY HELPS PLAYCENTRE CELEBRATE FACELIFT

Entrepreneur Alexandra Saba has invested ‘a substantial amount’ to restore a children’s playcentre to its former glories.

Miss Saba has completely refurbished the Fenton Fun Factory, renovating two party rooms, installing a brand new heating system, and commissioning local artist Brucasso to create a colourful mural at the centre’s entrance.

And she now has big plans for the centre, including princess parties and Ashes sporting contests between the Fun Factory (representing her homeland) and other local playcentres (representing England).

She has also introduced a free Childminders Club to help working parents. All childminders with an OFSTED registration number can register and will receive discounts on admission prices.

Duty Manager Kelly Booth said: “The Fun Factory was formerly known as Hee Hee’s and has been a playcentre for many years, but it had fallen into a state of disrepair.

“We’ve completely overhauled the heating system, created new party rooms, and added a wonderful mural featuring plenty of colour and cartoon characters.

“To celebrate the end of the refurbishment, we have a host of fun events lined up, starting with our retro sports day next week.”

Her celebrations began with an old-fashioned sports day, featuring egg-and-spoon races and three-legged races, to raise money for Comic Relief on March 20th.

There was also a fancy dress competition – featuring prizes for the best dressed boy and girl – face painting and pass the parcel.

At 14000sq ft, Fun Factory is one of the largest playhouses in the area, and offers a range of equipment including a giant play frame, a 180 degree tube slide, and a mini football pitch.

Children with special needs are welcomed and catered for.
