More Then Just A Ryme, Dr Seuss

Stress Release Reminders reflects on the great works of Dr. Seuss.

March 2, 2011 - PRLog -- Have you ever taken a moment to look past the silly words and focus on the message Dr Seuss conveys  in his work?

As a child, I loved the rhyming silly repetition of “Green Eggs and Ham” but not until much later did I realize what a true visionary Theodore Seuss Geisel truly was. I can not pinpoint a favorite, but I have to say “The Sneetches” which helps children except people no matter how different, or “Oh the places you go” are 2 of my favorite. He has many deep and meaningful writings, and in his honor, I would like to share a few of my favorite.

   * “You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You’re on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the one who’ll decide where to go…” (Oh, the Places You’ll Go!)

   * “A person’s a person, no matter how small.” (Horton Hears a Who!)

   * “The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.” (I Can Read with My Eyes Shut)

   * “Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, Nothing is going to get better. It’s not.” (The Lorax)

   * “You’re off to Great Places! Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting, So… get on your way!” (Oh, the Places You’ll Go!)

   * “What if Christmas, he thought, doesn’t come from a store. What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more.” (How the Grinch Stole Christmas!)

   * “I know, up on top you are seeing great sights, but down here at the bottom we, too, should have rights.” (Yertle the Turtle )

   * “Today is gone. Today was fun. Tomorrow is another one.” (One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish)

   * “Today you are you, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is youer than you.” (Happy Birthday to You)

   * “Just tell yourself, Duckie, you’re really quite lucky!” (I Wished I Had Duck Feet)

I have posted many of Dr Seuss’s quotes on my motivational Facebook page for StressReleaseReminders.com  Here are a few of the most liked by the fans:

“Sometimes the questions are complicated and the answers are simple.”
“How did it get so late so soon?”
“They say I’m old-fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast!”
“Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened.”
“You know you’re in love when you can’t fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams.”
