NAOHSM’s 2011 Convention Focuses on Education

Feb. 28, 2011 - PRLog -- NAOHSM’s Annual Convention in Hershey, PA from May 22-26, 2011 will focus on education. There will be a host of both technical and managerial classes from Monday to Wednesday, as well as an interactive trade show.

Monday, May 23 is dedicated to managers and owners. There will be a one-day class for those moving through the chain from technician to manager to owner. This will include a series of tracts that include succession issues in a family business, moving from technician into management, TAG, Energi Insurance – controlling losses and premiums. There will also be a class on Manual J.

On Tuesday, May 24 and Wednesday, May 25, there will be a broad range of technical classes focusing on condensing (both gas and oil), hybrid heat pumps, new and emerging equipment (two panel discussions), controls, resets, ECM technology, and air flow. Coinciding with our industry’s move to a “renewable fuel,” fuel quality updates will also be available. CEU’s will be tied with each class and attendees can earn both NATE and NORA CEU’s. On Wednesday, there will be early-morning sessions that include, “If You Aren’t Testing You Are Guessing” and “Sell to the Needs of Your Customer, Don’t Just Replace the Unit.” And a broad range of sessions will follow the show, which is a new addition to our education schedule.

Speakers include Dan Holohan (with his popular class, Holohan’s Hydronic Tips), John Levey, Chris Mohalley (delivering classes on both ECM Technology and Air Flow), Jody Samuell (a respected trainer on Condensing Boiler Technology), George Carey (speaking about Controls), and more.  

Many of the products used for heating and cooling will be on display at the trade show on Tuesday (11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.) and Wednesday (9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.). There will also be a large, outdoor area for equipment demonstrations. This is the perfect place to examine new, energy-saving products and talk with manufacturers of the equipment you install and service.
