Feb. 6, 2012 - PRLog -- OESP, the National Association of Oil and Energy Service Professionals, will hold several charitable events at its convention from May 20-24, 2012 at the Rhode Island Convention Center in Providence, RI.

“OSEP’s mission is education, but we are also known for helping others. In addition to complimentary courses and a trade show, attendees will have the opportunity to invest in the future of our industry and help the less fortunate heat their homes. On Monday, attendees can participate in a golf tournament benefiting the Dave Nelsen Scholarship or the Care to Ride event for Oil Heat Cares,” says Judy Garber, OESP’s Executive Director.

The annual Dave Nelsen Scholarship Golf Tournament will be held at Swansea Country Club, a convenient drive from the Rhode Island Convention Center. All funds raised from this official tournament will support the Dave Nelsen Scholarship for students wishing to continue their education in the industry. This marks the scholarship’s thirteenth year and OESP has awarded $191,000 to students thus far.

The Care to Ride event, benefiting Oil Heat Cares, will also be taking place on Monday at the Convention. Whether you decide to ride your motorcycle or bicycle, run or walk, you’re in for a treat. Providence is a delightful city to explore. OESP has arranged for a tour guide to show walkers around Benefit Street, pointing out some of the most significant and stunning Colonial-period architecture in the country. Registration for OESP’s Annual Convention and Trade Show opens in February and all industry professionals are invited to attend.
