Having said that, Chelsea could probably do with a break in order to regroup. Their disappointing season took another turn for the worse when they were knocked out of the FA Cup by Everton on Saturday and there is no doubt that all is not well at Stamford Bridge. Ancelotti will probably be grateful of the distraction of the Champions League given the how precarios the Blues Premiership position is, so much so that there is a real danger now that the Blues could miss out on Champions League football next season. But Chelsea will be buoyed by the ease in which they sailed through their qualifying group, winning their first five games in commanding style and proving in the process that they are still are force in European football. Fernando Torres, who was cup-tied on Saturday, will return to the side, but who he will partner remains to be seen as Ancelotti continues to search for a way of accomadating the Spaniard alongside Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka. The lack of width is proving a real problem, so much so that the narrowness of Chelsea's play is having a thoroughly detrimental effect on the Frank Lampard's form. So often the Chelsea talisman, Lampard is struggling to find space in crowded opposition penalty areas under this current Chelsea system. However, the precarious league position means that this competition is even more important to Chelsea than it was at the start of the season, and there must be a decent chance we will see a reaction from Chelsea in this game. The visitors have a huge class edge over their rivals and, on balance, the 4-5 about Ancelotti's side may not be as bad a price as it first appears. When Chelsea do work out how to accomodate Torres and get some width into their play, they will be become a formidable force again. Take the Blues to get back on track in Denmark on Tuesday.
