Feb. 17, 2011 - PRLog -- As Stand Up to Bullying Day is on February 25th, 2011, the newly available Award-winning Documentary Film on Bullying, RATS & BULLIES, is an excellent way to open up dialogue with teens to discuss bullying and how to prevent it.

The New Movie 3-minute Movie Trailer for the 85-minute film can be found at www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tt4cjUOpnnk

The groundbeaking Film, Executive Produced/Directed by Actress/Screenwriter Cassidy McMillan and Actor/Director Ray Buffer, tells the true story of 14 year-old Dawn-Marie Wesley, who hung herself with her dog's leash after being systematically threatened and bullied by three girls at her high school, whom she named in her suicide note. The incident incited a nation, launched a landmark investigation by Canada's Crown, which led to the precedent setting court case, where for the first time in North American Courts, teens were arrested, charged, and made to stand trial for bullying.

This revolutionary court case opened the doors for all future bullying cases.

This powerful story was featured on the OPRAH WINFREY SHOW, CNN's AC360 with ANDERSON COOPER, the JOHN WALSH Show, the DR. PHIL Show, and many other global media outlets.

The Film features exclusive interviews with the people involved, including the Provincial Court Judge who presided over, and handed down, her precedent setting ruling. The Judge has never before, or since, granted another film interview on the historic case.

RATS & BULLIES also provides solutions to teens, parents, teachers, school administrators on how to prevent bullying and bullycides, as it includes additional insight from Bullying Expert/ New York Times Best-selling Author Rosalind Wiseman.

The Film was written, produced, and co-directed by Actress/Writer Cassidy McMillan, who was compelled to tell the story in the hopes of preventing another teen boy or girl from taking their life due to bullying. McMillan funded the Film on her own credit cards and loans as she so strongly believed in the Film's message.

McMillan travels to, and speaks at, schools/organizations where she talks on bullying prevention, and does Q&A Sessions with audiences after showing RATS & BULLIES.

The Film was honored by the WOMEN IN FILM Organization (Los Angeles) as it won their esteemed WOMEN IN FILM FOUNDATION AWARD.  The Film was one of ten annual winners from over 1,500 Films submitted.

McMillan Media Filmworks is now offerieng the Film for DVD purchase through the Film's Official Website at www.RatsAndBullies.com

Schools can also contact the Film Office of McMillan Media Filmworks at McMillanMedia@gmail.com if they should wish to arrange a Public Speaking Event for Cassidy McMillan to come to their school to show the Film and discuss Bullying Prevention.

McMillan's Screenplay, THE TOUGHEST GIRLS, based on the true story, is currently being read by production companies for development.

McMillan hopes that RATS & BULLIES will help foster communication between teens,  teachers and parents on bullying prevention.
