Feb. 15, 2011 - PRLog -- The 2011 Audi Q7 continues to deliver distinguished elegance, plenty of cargo room and the option to choose either six or seven-passenger seating. The old 3.6L V6 and 4.2L V8 engines are gone now, having been replaced by a supercharged 3.0L V6 that produces 272 horsepower in the 3.0T models and 333 hp in the 3.0T S line package. A 3.0L diesel V6 returns, and all three engines now team up with the all new eight-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission (currently shared with the new A8, and is sure to  find its way under the hood of other models before the 2011 model year is over with), making the 2011 Q7 more powerful and fuel efficient than ever.

For 2011 the Audi Q7 comes in several trim levels, including Premium, Premium Plus and S Line Prestige in the gas models, and Premium, Premium Plus and Prestige for the diesel line-up. Standard features are broken down like so: the base level Premium includes LED turn signals in the exterior mirrors, 18-inch tires, dual-zone climate control, heated front seats, power tailgate, sound system with iPod integration, Bluetooth connectivity and rain and light sensors. The Premium Plus and S Line Prestige get upgrades for the new model year such as Bose surround sound, driver's seat memory, a panoramic sunroof, LED daytime running lights, xenon headlights and parking assist with a rearview camera. These last trims have a couple of extra options too, such as running boards and headlight washers. The S Line also comes with ventilated front seats, 4-zone automatic climate control, power tilt and telescopic steering column, 20-inch wheels, heated headlight washers, adaptive headlights, a special S Line exterior trim and the Audi advanced key.

Adaptive xenon headlights come standard on the TDI Prestige (the diesel trim) and 3.0T S line, along with a dark-tinted panoramic sunroof which is now included in the Warm Weather Package. Exterior features include an available panoramic sunroof, available rear power liftgate as well as a choice of 18, 19, 20 or 21-inch wheels, depending on trim level of course. Moving on to the interior we find lush, ventilated front seating and an HD radio which both come standard on the 3.0T S line and TDI Prestige. The TDI Prestige also gets adaptive cruise control as a new option. A six-disc CD changer was removed from the list of standard features and has been replaced by additional storage space under the armrest. The Q7 comes with standard seating for five adults and can fit up to seven with an optional third-row seat. When the second-row seats fold down flat you get 72.5 cubic feet of rear cargo storage space. Audi's Multi Media Interface information and navigation system now features enhanced voice activation, so now you can simply speak out common commands like "I need gas" or "I need coffee," and the computer will map out your closest options for you. The interior features include an available TV tuner, available powered rear cargo cover and a 14-speaker stereo system, which is optional.

The 2011 Q7 has standard side-impact airbags for the front seats, side curtain airbags for all three rows and an electronic stability system, which reduces the danger of swerving and improves overall directional stability. Optional safety equipment includes a rearview camera, a radar-based adaptive cruise control system ,which monitors the vehicle in front of the Q7 and maintains a safe distance, as well as a lane assistance feature that ensures Q7 stays in its lane. If the car detects that a possible crash could happen, it warns the driver and prepares the braking system. Once the car reaches 20 mph and up the Audi's side assist system checks the Q7's blind spots and watches the rear of the car for fast-approaching vehicles.
