The Board of Directors of the IJIS Institute, a nonprofit organization that focuses on mission-critical information sharing for justice, public safety, and homeland security, announces the appointment of Glenn Archer as the new Executive Director of the IJIS Institute.  Mr. Archer succeeds Paul Wormeli, who was the Institute’s Executive Director for over seven years.

As one of the charter members of the IJIS Institute, Mr. Archer is deeply committed to furthering its vision, mission, and values. He has witnessed the Institute’s growth from concept to a prospering non-profit due to the support from all its member organizations, alliance partners, and grant funding organizations.

Mr. Archer was the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of The Templar Corporation, a ChoicePoint Company and Vice President of ChoicePoint Government Services. Mr. Archer brings 18 years of domain expertise in law enforcement, public safety, homeland security and intelligence programs. He is a graduate of Yale University, majoring in Economics with a concentration in Computer Science. Mr. Archer has expertise in domain assessment, knowledge acquisition, and engineering solutions as well as deep understanding of technology driven business transformation.  At Templar, he worked with dozens of federal, state, and local clients to help make information sharing a reality.

Mr. Archer has been intently engaged with the programs and services of the IJIS Institute since its inception from the Industry Working Group (IWG). He assisted in the organization and presentation of the Institute’s Emerging Technology Seminars series, National Forums, and technical assistance programs. He led the development and presentation of the Information Sharing and Data Mining Technology series.  More recently, Mr. Archer was on the Executive Committee and has served as the President of the Institute’s Board of Directors. He has also been an active member of the Institute’s Governance Committee and formerly served as its Vice-Chair.

In considering his appointment, IJIS Institute President Mike Lyons stated, “Glenn is the right person to build on the successes of the IJIS Institute as we move to new levels of service in the information sharing field.  His knowledge of industry, technology, and government operations is exactly the combination of skills and experiences that will help us grow our contributions to this field.”   Lyons further noted that former Executive Director Paul Wormeli will “still be engaged working with Glenn” to provide continuity of purpose in his new position of Executive Director Emeritus.
