You Know You Are an Actively Engaged Employee When…

Feb. 10, 2011 - PRLog -- Chicago, IL – February 10, 2011 – When it comes to Employee Engagement, there are three types of employees: Actively Engaged, Ambivalent, and Actively Disengaged.  Actively Engaged employees go above and beyond, frequently doing more than what is asked of them.  They are incredibly loyal to their organization and are intent to stay at their organization for many years.  Ambivalent employees are not apt to go the extra mile, only doing what is required of them, and are at risk of leaving the company.  Actively Disengaged employees hold a negative attitude toward their employer and their job responsibilities.

1) You volunteer to accept more projects instead of turning them down so you can surf the Internet.
2) You offer to stay late to meet a deadline instead of leaving early to beat the traffic.
3) You regularly arrive at work early.
4) You passionately support your organization’s mission, vision and values.
5) You offer to help a colleague who is overwhelmed with multiple projects that have tight deadlines.
6) You proactively share cost-saving ideas with your supervisor instead of waiting for someone else to speak up.
7) You speak positively about your company when interacting with family and friends.
8) You offer to serve as a mentor to a new employee.
9) You frequently participate in training opportunities to develop your personal and professional skills.
10) You are aware of your level of Engagement and are committed to keeping it high.
11) You proactively meet with your supervisor to discuss Engagement detractors and create a solution to resolve them before they prompt you to consider leaving the organization.
