Florida Attorneys Present Estate Planning for Women Program

Feb. 6, 2011 - PRLog -- Florida Certified Elder Law Attorney Genny Bernstein presents Estate Planning 101 for Women at Port St. Lucie's Temple Beth El Israel on Tuesday, Feb. 8 at 1 p.m. The program will address women's special legal and financial challenges that arise as a result of longer lifespans and greater likelihood of serving as caregivers, and exepreincing career interruptions. Topics will include protecting one's medical and financial independence in the event of disability; powers of attorney;  how to appoint a guardian for minor children; wills and trusts; avoiding going broke if long-term nursing care is needed; obtaining Medicaid benefits and Veterans benefits for nursing care, assisted living or home care; and how to keep assets in the family if a women is in a second marriage or her children are divorced and remarried. The program is suitable for women of all ages and marital status.
