Follow on Google News | Chillicothe, IL "Bald Ealge Days", February 7th - 12th, 2011Join the Chillicothe Rotary in celebrating the return of the American Bald Eagle to the Chillicothe riverfront, February 7tht-12th with “Bald Eagle Days”.
Bald Eagle Days kicks off the morning of Monday, February 7th at Cutright Park on the riverfront with the dedication of the giant eagle carving. Saturday February 12th, Bald Eagle Days will be highlighted by a number of fantastic fun events at Shore Acres Park Clubhouse, from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., starting with a Pancake and Sausage Breakfast co-sponsored by the Chillicothe Lions Club and the Chillicothe Rotary Club. Tickets will be $7.00 per adult and $3.00 per child (under 12). Tickets are available from Rotary members, Lions Club members and these locations: City Hall, CEFCU, and Happy Thought Coffee. Tickets may also be purchased the day of the event at the door Wildlife Prairie Park will have their popular Bald Eagle Raptor Program on display. Chainsaw artist Tim Gill will be demonstrating his craft that day carving works of art with his chainsaw. David Zalaznik author of Life Along the Illinois River will be there with his book. Be sure to sit down with him and chat about his books, and get a signed copy for your own collection. Bald Eagle Art Contest entries will be on display with judging at 10:00 a.m. Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners. There will be two categories for entry: Children’ Magician Jerry Tupper will be on hand with a number of magic shows that everyone is sure to enjoy.
