FQ Spares Joins the Vehicle Recycling Centre to boost used car part sales...

Jan. 27, 2011 - PRLog -- Arran Wood of the vehicle recycling centre says: “This is a great day for FQ Spares and a great day for our visitors. We are at a turning point here at the vehicle recycling centre where we are receiving more parts requests than the breakers listed can supply, by widening our network of used parts suppliers we can elevate some disappointment felt by our visitors because we simply don’t have enough parts listed our suppliers with used parts for sale.”

The Vehicle Recycling Centre has been growing steadily since its launch just before Christmas, and is currently gaining around 2000 positions a day in visitor numbers (based on Alexia data).

Although the vehicle recycling centre was not intended to be a “Part Finder” website, there is little doubt that the usual used parts and breaker yard website are feeling the pinch of their presence.

Arran Says “approximately 80% of our visitors are arriving on the website seeking used parts, this is excellent news, because our aims of promoting the reuse of vehicle parts is proving to be worthwhile, however there is currently no telling how many of these visitors would have sourced used parts above new ones without us being here.

Over the coming months we have some really exciting projects underway including the launch of a car battery reconditioning plant. This plant will dramatically reduce the need for new car batteries to be purchased by offering reconditioned batteries at about half the price or less than the equivalent new one. This is also a boost for the Breaker yard and ELV industry because we are able to pay around £8.00 per battery to them; oppose to the £6.00 they are currently receiving from scrap metal merchants.

Our website currently has around 4 million pages and is still only about 10% complete, we have lots of features still to implement that will help the entire vehicle recycling industry and certainly any of them that work with us.

The introduction of our “Now Breaking for Parts” section will make the process of adding vehicles and their available parts much easier for breakers that are usually focused on gate traffic and have little time to bother with online marketing.”
