Jan. 21, 2011 - PRLog -- Functional Fitness is pleased to announce its award winning arthritis DVD has been incorporated into the 25 episode TV series (with more to come) and pledge show to attract new members to public television stations across the country.   Available on the NETA satellite January 17th, 2011, the series has been reviewed and approved by a panel of top doctors – two of which appeared on the pledge show taped at WDSC TV, Functional Fitness with Suzanne Andrews Complete Guide to Arthritis.

On the pledge show, Public Television viewers are offered a wealth of arthritis relief information with Nathan Wei, MD, who is a graduate of Swarthmore College and the Jefferson Medical College.  He completed his residency at the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan and his fellowship in arthritis at the National Institute of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. Dr. Wei is an acknowledged national expert in rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis and is the author of more than 500 publications.  He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, a Fellow of the American College of Rheumatology and is the only American rheumatologist member in the Arthroscopy Association of North America and recommends Andrews’ Functional Fitness program.

The specially produced arthritis DVDs and Dr. Wei’s latest book will be offered as a ‘thank you’ to supporters of Public Television stations across the U.S. and Canada during their pledge drives.

Co-host of the pledge show, Dr. Mache Seibel, served on the Harvard Medical School faculty nearly two decades before assuming his current position as a Professor at the University of Massachusetts Medical School and Director of the Complicated Menopause Program. Dr. Seibel has won numerous awards for research, writing, music and patient education. His clear and concise summaries and analysis of complex issues have made him a consistent figure in both print and broadcast media, and a sought after consultant. In 2008 the University of Texas Medical Branch recognized him with an Ashbel Smith Distinguished Alumnus Award, the Medical School's highest honor.

Currently airing on several stations, Functional Fitness with Suzanne Andrews® has received hundreds of letters of praise from viewers all across the country.  Some viewers arrived at the station the day of taping the pledge show to express their gratitude to public television for airing Functional Fitness, the only doctor recommended series to offer functional exercise with three levels, utilizing inexpensive household items and instructed by a licensed occupational therapy practitioner with over 25 years of exercise education experience.

Andrews, a fan of Public Television herself, will support all public television stations by offering merchandise related to the program, making herself available for personal appearances (schedule permitting), press releases and marketing to include a link and logo of each station to air the program on the Healthwise Exercise website, www.healthwiseexercise.com  (producers of Functional Fitness with Suzanne Andrews®) and the Suzanne Andrews Functional Fitness website.
