New Indie Browser Space Game Launched

This was a recent comment on Facebook by a young player who has become one of many young people who have discovered the pleasure of playing the new online Indie  game 'Starkadet'.  

Created by one person to fulfill his dream of making a game that he, and his children would want to play, Starkadet is retro in its visual style, with a unique character unlike any other in a field saturated by 'big production' games. It has all the attributes of traditional combat-style gaming which challenge players in strategic methods,  as well as diplomacy!    
     
Set in space, this isometric combat game allows players to build and program their own robots to compete with other players. Part of the game's objective is for players to create their own colonies for other players to explore.  There is a supply and demand economy involving resources which may reduce or increase in price,  influenced entirely by the player community.  

Starkadet, with an often humourous commentary and a vibrant soundtrack is absorbing and educational, challenging players to think more than the average game. Interestingly the game continues to function and develop even when the players are offline, thus allowing progress which is not dependent on actual playing.    

Starkadet provides entertainment which is often gently sattirical and never offensive. It has already attracted many players ranging in age from 12 – 50 years .
