Jan. 11, 2011 - PRLog -- Raleigh, NC – After three years of planning, writing, mixing, mastering, and producing, underground creative music maven, prolif kochise (North Carolina native) has released his second album entitled, Intellectual Property.  With a 1.11.11 release date, the Hebrew Gematria translation of the 111 ironically means, “The Beginning of Wisdom”.

The thematic and creative tone of Intellectual Property was inspired by vintage sampling and intentional void of permissions from respective music authorities.

With title tracks such as “Finances”, “Stereotypes”, “Grandiloquence”, and “Miss Noki”, Intellectual Property is like a sociology book with a spiritual underpinning and an economic and political insert, all tied together with a 'dirty music industry' rope of frustration.

Written and produced entirely by himself, prolif challenges the copyright and trademark laws regarding digital sampling in this one hour delving into inquiries.

Compared to artists like Common, Lupe Fiasco, Mos Def, and Black Thought (of the Roots), prolif kochise creatively fuses melodic beats with thought provoking and profound messages.  Prolif’s influences include people and elements such as Jesus, his mother, his wife, ginger ale, Optimus Prime, negative news clips, pizza, Robert Diggs, and old uncles who rock penny loafers.

“There are many things I want to accomplish through music. Chief amongst those goals is telling God ‘thank you’ by using the talents He has given me to impact the world we live in,” comments kochise. “I also want to provide an alternative to the negative, explicit, degrading hip-hop that has infected the industry.”

About prolif kochise
Born in rural North Carolina in the late 70’s, prolif kochise’s background is as unique as his quasi soulful, but eclectic sound. He stood out as an “A” honor-roll student-athlete in high school while being a captain on the varsity basketball team. He went on to attend an engineering college, obtaining a BS in computer science before later picking up a Master’s degree in Sports Management. His wide array of education serves as a background to the intellectual perspectives he takes on a variety of topics from the moral decay in America, to the self-degradation of today’s youth, to the deterioration of the family, to political unrest, to usage of the infamous “n-word”, to his strong faith in Jesus Christ. Often quoted as shunning being boxed in to a genre, prolif’s music straddles categorical lines of hip-hop, inspirational, conscious, spiritual, and easy listening.
