Augustine Biomedical + Design, manufacturer of the Hot Dog® Patient Warming System, announced that Banfield Pet Hospital®, the largest general veterinary practice in the world, has selected Hot Dog warming for all 770 Banfield hospitals across the United States.

The Hot Dog Patient Warming System represents a breakthrough in technology, utilizing conductive fabric warming to safely and effectively warm patients during surgery and recovery, while eliminating many of the issues associated with other warming methods.  The reusable Hot Dog blankets and low energy consumption also make the Hot Dog warming system environmentally friendly.

“Banfield is committed to providing the highest quality veterinary medicine to each pet we see,” said Jeffrey Klausner, DVM, Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer (CMO) for Banfield Pet Hospital. “Providing that high-quality medicine requires our doctors to have the best medical equipment available—the Hot Dog Patient Warming System is an excellent tool for both surgery and post-surgery recovery.”

“We’re excited that Banfield has selected the Hot Dog Patient Warming System”, said John Bayard, Senior Product Manager at Augustine Biomedical + Design.  “The meticulous selection process involved several months of field testing several warming systems.  Their testing validated the safety, effectiveness, and durability that make Hot Dog warming an unbeatable value in the veterinary industry."

About Augustine Biomedical + Design
Augustine Biomedical + Design was founded by Dr. Scott Augustine, who developed the first forced-air patient warming system, Bair Hugger® warming.  Based on his extensive experience and on years of feedback from end users, Dr. Augustine has now developed the next generation of patient warming, the Hot Dog Patient Warming System.   Used in both human and veterinary medicine, Hot Dog warming is the new standard of care in patient warming.  The patented conductive fabric technology in the Hot Dog warming blankets makes them safe, effective, and reusable, and offers many advantages over competing warming methods.  Bair Hugger is a registered trademark of Arizant Healthcare Inc.
