The Latino Entrepreneurial Network Exito Awards Winners Announced

Business Champions Awarded by Local Entrepreneurs

Dec. 16, 2010 - PRLog -- MILWAUKEE - On December 10, 2010 the Latino Entrepreneurial Network (LEN) of SE WI celebrated another year of success and growth at their annual Exito Awards.  “The Exito Awards is a tradition that recognizes those who have been integral in the growth of the Latino Entrepreneurial Network“ stated Nelson Soler, LEN Founding Executive Director.  

This sold out awards celebration event was held at Milwaukee’s Italian Community Center.  LEN Exito Awards recipients were as follows:

- Mary Trimmer, Small Business Administration Specialist, Microenterprise Champion 2010
- Eric Lowder, Managing Director at Prudential Financial Services, Corporate Champion 2010
- Jair and Suzy Arias, Owner of restaurant JC King, Entrepreneur of 2010
- Kurt Schummer, Financial Representative at Prudential, Volunteer of  the Year 2010
- Maria Monge, Owner of BriCleaners, Volunteer of the Year 2010
- Melissa Foerster, SVP of Retail Banking at US Bank, Visionary of the Year 2010

In addition to the awards ceremony, there was entertainment by a child violinist (Brian Aguirre) as well as a children’s traditional dance, and the Blue Rose Tropical dancers.  The 200 participants participated in a structured networking game as well as a silent auction.  Funds and donations raised help fund LEN’s yearly Youth Camp as well as their bilingual business events.  “Our sponsors have helped us tremendously over the past few years.  Our BEST Youth Camp will benefit directly from our sponsor’s kind donations”, states Christopher M. Castillo, founding LEN Board Member and owner/CEO Aeutus Marketing and Castillo Consulting Services.  This past summer, LEN completed the fifth annual summer camp to assist local young adults in starting their own business.  This Bilingual Entrepreneurship Summer Training (BEST) Youth Camp brings young talent together to participate in an advanced business training experience.

The event was sponsored by US Bank, Educators Credit Union, Multicultural Entrepreneurial Institute (MEI), Prudential, Social Development Commission, RC Insurance and UMOS.
