WXYZ Detroit Adds JVC GY-HM790 Cameras to Main Studio

The flagship station of the Scripps TV Station Group, WXYZ began using the JVC cameras alongside its Thomson HD cameras last month.
 
Dec. 13, 2010 - PRLog -- WAYNE, NJ – JVC Professional Products Company today announced that WXYZ, the ABC affiliate in Detroit (DMA #11), has purchased two JVC GY-HM790 ProHD cameras for its main studio. The flagship station of the Scripps TV Station Group, WXYZ began using the cameras alongside its Thomson HD cameras last month.

With a redesigned studio adapter sled and innovative modular design, the GY-HM790 is an ideal solution for multicore or fiber-based studios. With its three 1/3-inch CCDs, it produces 1280×720 or 1920×1080 images and can record in 720p, 1080i, and even SD (480i) for operations that have not yet made the move to HD. For ENG use, the compact, shoulder-mount camera features a dual card slot design that records to low-cost, non-proprietary SDHC solid-state media cards in ready-to-edit file formats for Apple Final Cut Pro (.MOV) and other major NLE systems (.MP4).
