By: A & R Select Brice Cagan had started organizing the concept of The Synesthesia Project over a year ago while attending the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. In order to turn that concept into reality, he moved to Los Angeles. There he met Joey Cleveland. Joey had been recording and touring in the Los Angeles area for most of his life and was looking for a project that he could completely commit to. Upon their first meeting , they immediately began writing and recording throughout the summer of 2010. In order to play shows, they began to look for ‘hired guns’ so that they could play live shows as a band. In came Nick Guarna, a life-time friend of Joey’s. He was asked to sit in on a session to see if he could keep up with the material. These three individuals, Brice Cagan (guitar), Joey Cleveland (vocals) and Nick Guarna were now the force behind The Synesthesia Project. All three have equal input on material and direction. What developed out of these three is a unique sound, even despite how heavy their music could get, each song had a theme, a vision, a unique sound and track was graced with their own specifically illustrated art work courtesy of Brice Cagan. Another highlight is that these individuals are storytellers of the highest caliber. Through their writing, arrangements and delivery, you will hear and experience the story’s as if you lived through them. The Synethesia Project is proud to release their lead single from Act 1, “Sound and Sight”, which is off of their debut CD, Synesthesia. The CD in its entirety is about controlling the direction of your life and is constantly referring to Synesthesia as an example. This is described as a condition in which one type of stimulation evokes the sensation of another, as when the hearing of a sound produces the visualization of a color. Brice Cagan has been diagnosed with this disorder. The CD Synesthesia is broken up into four acts. The lead song is taken from Act 1, which is themed by overtures, layered acoustics and complicated arrangements of energy. It has been released in its digital format for the time being. It is also considered to be an anthem to this groups’ goals and vision. Played with emotion and conviction, this song proves to be a true example as to the type of individuals created The Synethesia Project. “We wanted to do our best to outline our sound and give listeners an idea to what diversity and importance the album means to us.” This CD has not been released in its totality. Estimated release date of the entire four acts is early 2011.
