Follow on Google News | New Charity Affairs Event Posted: Season's Readings Fundraising EventCharity Affairs would like to announce a newly listed fundraising event. On Dec 9th, 2010, join Season's Readings in an event designed to put books on the shelves of seven Cleveland Ohio Metropolitan School District elementary schools.
By: Jason Tait, Public Relations All proceeds from this fundraising event will go directly to the purchase of library books which will then be distributed to Euclid Park, Warner, Douglas MacArthur, Miles Park, Hannah Gibbons, Waverly, and Buhrer elementary schools— all in severe need of new library books. For only $50, you will receive a ticket to the benefit, enjoy hearty appetizers and cocktails throughout the evening, and listen to live entertainment by CMSD’s All-City Jazz Band. We will be auctioning a wide variety of items during the event, such as pampered getaways, overnight hotel stays, bar study courses, photography sessions, gift cards, event tickets, and much more! All proceeds will go directly to the purchase of library books which will then be distributed to Euclid Park, Warner, Douglas MacArthur, Miles Park, Hannah Gibbons, Waverly, and Buhrer elementary schools— all in severe need of new library books. A new library book costs on average $12. The Cleveland Metropolitan School District is able to allocate approximately $8 per student for new book purchases. That amounts to 2/3 of a book per student per year, a wholly unacceptable total. In many CMSD schools, students walk into libraries that are at-best outdated and, at-worst, empty. Fortunately, you can help. Season’s Readings promises to be a gala event with plenty of great food, cocktails, entertainment, and silent auctions on items throughout the evening.
