Nov. 26, 2010 - PRLog -- The T6 has a Facebook fan page facebook.com/t6water, a Twitter account twitter.com/t6water, and a YouTube channel displaying promotional videos and the latest TV advertising youtube.com/t6waterdispenser.

It also has Picasa and Flickr photo sharing accounts, a presence on sites like hubpages.com and squidoo.com and is bookmarked in the main social bookmarking websites. The push into social media follows a revamp of its website at www.t6water.co.uk

The T6, so-called because its manufacturers regard it as the sixth indispensable kitchen appliance, sits on a counter top and delivers filtered boiling, hot, ambient and chilled drinking water at the touch of the button. An on-board computer regulates all four temperatures and as it is mains fed, there is an instant supply, with no waiting for the kettle to boil or water to cool.

Manufacturer Tana Water expects the T6 to replace traditional kettle in homes and offices in UK. Agneta Sjödin, marketing director, said: “Brands using social media are seen as fresh, and we are a fresh brand delivering fresh-tasting water.”

The target markets are style and eco-conscious home-owners and small to medium sized businesses - and social media was considered the perfect environment to start a conversation and show off its features.

Nick Heane, managing director at Tana Water, said: “The T6 means no standing by the kettle waiting for it to boil and no need to spend money on bottled water - tap water costs 1p a litre compared to an average price of 73p a litre for bottled water in the UK.

“People are sometimes put off drinking tap water because it can taste funny – the T6’s triple filtration system deals with that and the result is great tasting water without the environmental impact of bottled water.”

The T6 has an LCD screen, sleep and standby modes and comes in 12 different colours to fit any decor. It is approved under the Water Regulation Advisory Scheme.
