Educators who belong to Facebook and who have agreed to become group ambassadors, whose role is to stimulate discussions and spark debate, include Alex-Jenny Alexander, Wright State University; Sherri Linthicum Allred, Clemson University; Dolores LaGuardia, Santa Clara University; Adam Herman, Indiana University; Virginia Hemby-Grubb, Middle Tennessee State University; and McClain Watson, University of Texas, Dallas. Bovee says, “These groups are a discussion forum exploring all aspects of teaching business communication and business writing. Members are also encouraged to contribute information about materials they've developed for the classroom or about new PowerPoint programs, articles, PDFs, online videos, or podcasts they’ve discovered.” In addition to the Facebook business communication instructor community, Bovee and Thill have established a similar group on LinkedIn. About 5,000 instructors teach business communication in the United States, and more than 30 percent are now members of one of these two groups. (A link to this group can also be found on Bovee and Thill's blog, See end of the first paragraph above.) “By joining one of these groups, an instructor can share opinions about topics, discuss important issues, ask peers questions, and offer best practices for instruction,” # # # International Media Syndicate specializes in news distribution about prominent individuals and celebrities.
