By: A Head for PR Earlier this summer Mitch Tonks and the Visit South Devon tourism partnership launched the “Lets have a cracking time” campaign to highlight the benefits of eating South Devon crab which proved to be a resounding success leading to an increase in sales and renewed consumer interest in South Devon crab. The new “Eat Fish” app, which is the first app dedicated to fish, demonstrates how to prepare and cook South Devon crab along with step-by-step guides and recipes for South Devon crab as well a wide range of other fish and seafood. The Marketing Manager for Visit South Devon, Sarah Streeter says that the new “Eat Fish app” is a fantastic idea and it is a great way to bring South Devon crab to a new audience: “This is a clever way of spreading the word about South Devon crab, and we are very grateful to Mitch for all he has done to promote the campaign. The app is so easy to use and is jam packed with information and recipes about South Devon crab and it also addresses consumer’s questions about how to pick and prepare crab.” The new app which retails at £2.99 includes 17 videos showcasing techniques about how to filet and prepare seafood and fish. It features six step- by-step guides to the most commonly asked questions about fish as well as 27 recipes that range from simple suppers to impressive treats. It also includes seasonal information on the best fish to eat month by month with more than 40 species covered. The new app will be available with a special 40% discount at the BBC Good Food Show at the NEC in Birmingham from Wednesday 24 November.
