New Look Gives Business the Edge

Nov. 23, 2010 - PRLog -- Award winning Zullo & Holland was established in the heart of Nottingham over 20 years ago and the skilled team of 15 have continued to serve a loyal client base and win several major awards for their creative work.

Change of emphasis

When one of the directors left the business early in 2009, MD Romano Zullo contacted the local Business Link service for help to restructure and focus the company as he explains.  “It was an amicable decision for my co-director to leave and we have a good working agreement.  However, the change meant that there was a shift of emphasis and I needed to take more control of financial and other aspects of the business.”

Following discussions with a local Business Link adviser, Romano resolved to set a plan for the long term future of the business and to increase efficiency by introducing some new internal systems.  

Re-style

Through Business Link, Zullo & Holland was able to access assistance from a turnaround consultant as well as some funding to develop the business for the longer term.  “The consultant’s help has proved to be invaluable,” explains Romano.  “The first thing we worked on was the finances, setting controls and budgets to ensure long term stability.  We’re also in the process of developing a sales and marketing plan to build on our existing customer base.”

As part of its new look, Zullo & Holland recently revamped its Upper Parliament Street salon and is set to spread the word about the business beyond the local client base.

Romano is working with a business mentor and looking at how government training initiatives can help develop the Zullo & Holland team further.  “Through Business Link we have accessed a whole host of information and support that will help us to consolidate the business and build on our success in the future.
