By: Paul V. Rawate Seniors Shane MacMiller and Edward Bonilla credit their current success to new Head Coach Ryan Emery. As an assistant coach last year, Emery began to culture on the team by being able to relate better to his runners needs. MacMiller also added that, “our two training trips, helped our team bond and we will had a great time.” The Celts trained in Mammoth in August, and then had an intensive training weekend in Fresno in October. Bonilla felt the team was better this year because “coach increased our mileage and improved our work ethic.” Both feel that Harvard-Westlake and Notre Dame are the teams to beat this weekend. Coach Emery, is proud of his team’s accomplishments thus far, but believes there is more to come. To be successful this weekend, Emery hopes his runners will continue to, “do what they have been doing every day.” He knows to win the title the “last half mile will come down to who is the toughest.” With all the great teams at the Finals this weekend the Celts will have to be tough if they hope to finish their run into history.
