Other Celebrities present included Tanya Stephens, George Nooks, Carlene Davis, Cecile, G-Whiz, Khago, and Stacious to name a few. The workshop was chaired by Ms Tonni-Ann Brodber the UN’s representative and brought to the fore the global plight of abused women, both physically and verbally. The artists were made aware of their responsibilities as role models and the influence their music had on the society as a whole, thus the importance of their involvement in this important workshop. The discussion was very passionate from both sides male and female, but the overwhelming consensus was there is still a lot more that can be done through the music and its lyrical content to make the public more aware of the implications of how violence against women can impact the society. The workshop commenced at 10am and lasted approximately four hours, during this time the celebrities in attendance were able to interact with the media and the moderators present and conveyed their passions and opinions on the issues brought forward in the workshop. Stevie Face was very vocal and eloquent with his comments and expressed his opinions with the full support of the other artists present. He was also quick to point out that in many ways the workshop was indeed a success and that he had gained a wealth of information from the topics discussed. In addition to the artists attending the workshop, a song would also be chosen from each artist to be used by the UN’s campaign worldwide to promote its “End violence against women” agenda. Stevie’s current smash hit single the Penthouse produced “Thank you for loving me” will be the one chosen to represent him, as a positive and uplifting song highlighting his appreciation for women.
